A song, a psalm of David
108
πβO God, my heart is steadfast.I will sing and give praise,
even with my glory.
2 πAwake, lyre and harp.
I myself will awaken early.
3 πI will praise you, O LORD,
among the peoples,
and I will sing praises
to you among
the nations.
4 πFor your mercy is great,
higher than the heavens;
and your truth reaches
to the clouds.
5 πBe exalted, O God, above the heavens,
and your glory above all the earth,
6 πThat your loved one may be delivered.
Give salvation with
your right hand,
and answer me.
7 πGod has spoken in his holiness:
βI will rejoice;
I will divide Shechem, and measure
out the valley of Succoth.
8 πGilead is mine;
Manasseh is mine;
and Ephraim is the helmet
for my head.
Judah is my lawgiver.
9 πMoab is my wash pot.
Over Edom I will throw my sandal.
Over Philistia I will triumphβ.
10 πWho will bring me into the
strong city?
Who will lead me into Edom?
11 πWill not you,
O God, who rejected us?
And will not you, O God, go forth
with our armies?
12 πGive us help from trouble,
for useless is the help
of man.
13 πThrough God we will do valiantly,
for he it is who will tread
down our enemies.
